Week 5 - Graphic Design - Artist Research - Alan Fletcher

Graphic Design - Artist Research - Alan Fletcher

Alan Fletcher was born in 1931 and died in 2006. He was a British graphic designer and was described as ''the most highly regarded graphic designer of his generation'' by the Daily Telegraph.

This one piece of work by Alan Fletcher caught my eye straight away as i thought it is very clever how it is made. The simple fact it is about 'wet paint' and the effect of paint dripping down the page is very effective and makes it stand out. The amount of colour used is something i found effective.

This is yet another colourful piece owever neutral and black/white's are also used. The collaged effect is the main concept which i like about this and can refer to some of my previous work.

I find Alan Fletchers work very collaged, coloured and 'cut-out' (like the image above). It also looks like it has been done quickly yet thought about.
