Applied Arts - Task 1 - Metal
The first task of the applied arts project was in the metal workshop. We were to create numerous metal tester pieces with different textures/surface patterns on by using the methods we had been show. They were to then be nailed onto a wooden cube block.
I wanted to keep all my tester pieces similar by only using sheets of steel. Although i was very adventerous with the methods i used as i used most of the equipment such as the drill, hammers and the fly press.
Although i specialised in applied arts during the national extended diploma i didn't spend much time in the metal workshop. I found this small project rather enjoyable and i am pleased with my outcome and believe it shows i have worked hard and used a range of methods.
