Fine Art - Task 1
Fine art was definitely the most creative project so ar throughout the foundation course as i used the most mixed media such as paint, graphite, charcoal, pencil and more. I added these medias to a brown paper wrap so my background canvas was mid-tone so i was able to add highlights and darker colours. I began my piece by projecting shaddows on to my canvas. This gave me an initial idea to what surface pattern i could apply.
I kept adding more shaddows on to my canvas so i could keep adding colour.
Using string on the projector was interesting as i tried to draw over each tiny seperate piece (with charcoal) and the result was interesting as there was plenty to look at.
I could really see my piece develop as i kept layering on the shaddows and working into them.
I wanted it to be really detailed and i shown this really well when i broke charcoal over wet white paint which allowed it to stick to it.
I was pleased with my final piece as it wasn't actually a picture/image of anything imparticular it is just lots of different types of mark-making and applying textures to my canvas.
