Week 2 - 3D Design

3D Design - Task 3

This part of the project was more of a task where i was to create my own light covering/lamp shade. Things i had to consider were:

-Shape/form

-Size

-How the light would appear through it?

-Materials

For inspiration i looked in books (see picture above). I found this a good starting point as i was able to collect ideas and then possibly use them within my own work.

I came across this 'Zen Light' in the book i had previously been looking at. I was initially drawn to it for the layered effect it gave off as thin seperate pannels wrapped around the lightsource.

I began my making by creating something which was basically a copy of the 'Zen Light'.

My ideas really began to develop when i decided to create a weaved effect within the pannels of card, this if what made my peice individual and different to my reasearch.

I was pleased with my outcome as the weaving was very tight and neat.
