Textiles - Designer/Artist Research
Lotta Jansdotter
Lotta Jansdotter is a textile designer i came across on the design directory website. I initially liked her work for the qwerkyness of her work. I found an interesting quote from her website that explained her work. http://jump.dexigner.com/directory/2016
"Lotta’s work is about her life, and life is her inspiration. Her genius lies in exploring the beauty of everyday things. Drinking coffee from a pretty cup, writing notes on a hand printed card, dressing your child in the clothes you made him."
Her work is very colourful and gives a joyful feeling. She handprints her drawn-art onto surfaces and makes multiples of these on different fabrics. She began her own small company of making pillow cases, table linens and bags.
There isnt a particular pattern or piece of work i chose to write about as i really like her collection as a whole. I find her designs very cute and lady-like and i really see the possibilty of places they can be used.
Natasha Kerr
Natasha Kerr is an artist i have researched for previous projects. Her designs are based around her old family photographs. I find her work very collaged as she used a lot of different materials to create a piece, something i admire and sometimes do myself.
I like how she has included the use of lettering, something i included in one of my previous projects.
